New in Town
Welcome to Uppsala!
When you are new in town there are many things to organise. Give yourself a good start and begin by becoming a member of Västmanlands- Dala nation. You can find more information on how to become a member here.
Once you are a member of the V-Dala nation, you have a lot of advantages. One is that you can now place yourself in the nation's queue for rooms and apartments. To do that you need to fill in an application. You can find the application form under the headline Application or at the nation. Once you are in the queuing system you also need to come to the distributions to be able to get a room. The distributions are always held at the nation. If you are not able to participate in person you can send a proxy with a letter of authorisation from you. Remember to bring the necessary documents to the distribution! If this is your first semester at any University or College, either in Sweden or in another country, you can participate in the special distribution of rooms for "recentiorer", i. e. first-time students. One such special distribution is held at the beginning of every semester. See information below.
Distribution of rooms to new students
In the beginning of every semester we will distribute rooms to new students accepted for studies either at Uppsala University or at SLU. To be able to get a room at the distribution, this semester must be your first semester as a student at any university or college either in Sweden or abroad. You must also bring the following documents:
- Student ID card (proof that you have paid a full fee for the current semester)
- Identification card or passport
- A certificate from your university showing that you are registered as a full-time student for the current semester.
You can register for the "recce"-distribution when you become a member of the nation. More information on opening hours can be found at the nation's website.
